Beating the Averages

Beating the Averages

I have never ever think that a web page was running in lisp , it was a surprise for me . Actually I am really clumsy so every time I use it , I lost in a parenthesis sea and usally is no one who I have meet talked about lisp. And development Especially in the web , it was even more strange.

I read the next paragraph in the article and i thought that it is actually the reason of why i want to learn correctly the language:

“Lisp is worth learning for the profound enlightenment experience you will have when you finally get it; that experience will make you a better programmer for the rest of your days, even if you never actually use Lisp itself a lot”
I have not used Lisp for a long time but by the way I notice how it works really fast, and is not a complicate code to read, yo have not to define the type of data and the functions are easy to undestand.

The guys who decide to began theyre startup with Lisp take and amazing idea, basically they said, oh we have a lot experience with Lisp, and we need to hurry , so just use the pregramming language in we are good. And it makes sense, if you want to put your company on the first place is a good idea to use a programming language that you can use easily and of couse the surprise to your competitors, if you can use a tool that make all your process  in a quick way and the other companies does not know what are you using, still beter, you must use it. Nowday I am not sure if Lisp coud compete with the new languages but the basic idea of a “secret weapon” is still a good chance to be best than your competitors.

I found it in the article too :

programming languages are not just technology, but what programmers think in.

And I noticed two things, this is true and most posibly i am not a Lisp girl.

The Semicolon Wars

The Semicolon Wars

At first I did not realize the thought of the article but it was like a fun way to say That if we have lots of languages for comunication Among humans We Have even most ways to say something we want to do to a computer. The article mentions That there is a new language every week, and it is amazing, I mean If That Happened With human languages probably (and even most probably if, like with Programming lenguages we can choose our favorite or the most comfortable for us) we  just can not talk to each other.

As the same way Brian Hayes Said that people is Usually a really fan of an specific language, and admitted have is a LISP fan, the people Usually pick one programming language and try to make it better, to improve it or to show lots of amazing things you can do if you use it. At first I thinked That thought was exaggerated but With an all new languages the number of quickness them whith the Increase, if you want to keep something with you can programming you will need to preserve  its use.

About the comment of the preference of certain language and the way we solve our problems, It is credible, with my friends who actually are programmers, they have contrasting personalities and they favorite programming language is usually acording to the way they act.
Now I am remembering the comment about the semicolon, I have no trouble using it whit, I do it Automatically, and taking part of the previous comment, lots of friends prefers less stringent languages, the same acerca the type of data.

I have taken several courses in programming and I've had several teachers , usually them, as also mentioned article , when they like a language they try to subtly tell us that language presents a paradise programming. Sometimes it is great, but it is not always true.

Triumph of the Nerds Part I

It is amazing, I mean I am 19 and comparing the things i have done with the creations of the persons in the film and basically they made the 70% (or more) of things I am using to writte this opinion.

Well, taking the progression of the film we can notice that at first all came from a big trouble, but the idea at the begining was just sell the oportunity of build a computer (that most probably will not work) and this made the expectation of the hackers grown up about what the could do. So at that point they had the posibility of do actually nothing but mathematical operations and in a really complicate way. I think that was fun  because at first all was like “We need to find something to do with this machine because it is amazing but it is not productive” and I said it is fun because nowdays we spend lots of money buying computers just for do exactly the same, nothing productive, well maybe not everybody  but most of the users, so we upgrade the technology but we are stagnant in the same behavior.

Another interesting point is that the progress of the almost useless machine start by searching things to do with it and rapidly scaled by motivating young people to create new devices and programs that permitted increase the areas in which the technological development took relevance.
Thinking about business, usually we think in including lots of technology, and new ways, specialy in internet to promote or give our services, the business area do not affect it but once watched the documentary it is evident that it is an recent concept.

Another funny thing was the comment about the boring girl in the tech bazaar because it is mostly true, even if i like what I am studying I do not be so excited about buying or nose around in that place.

In general terms it was ilustrative about the progression of the computers and how they became so used and relevant.

Hey! My name is Andrea Iram Molina Orozco, I prefer to tell me Iram. I was born in Quintana roo, I went to college at sixteen and I was very nervous about my choice but I think I was right and I hope this course will serve me to acquire knowledge of Programming Languages, and actually i do not know almost nothing about the theme but I am eager to learn.

About:

I like cheese and desserts, do disasters in the kitchen and preparing food (to poison who taste it) of recipes I found on Internet.
I love horror and science fiction movies, I am currently almost obsessed with a tv show called White Collar, I also like to watch cartoons I saw when I was a young like Happy Tree Friends, Teen titans, Pucca, and others.
I like to search for articles on aliens and drawing techniques on the internet, I like to draw in my free time or when I want to focus on something that I think is important, although most people consider it disrespectful, really i am not so rude.

since childhood i am an avid reader, from historical novels to science fiction, through the Gothic, or horror novel, I love the way V.C. Andrews narrates her stories, she is the author of my favorite book (Flowers in the attic), Stephen King, one of my favorites and writer of most of my prefered titles, Valerio Massimo Manfredi, Irving Wallace and many more. Including less social side (to call it a nice way) I like to satisfy my curiosity with scientific articles on theories of physics and mathematics, algorithms and artistic movements. I'm pretty lazy so  I just leave all these things in theory.

I am affect to classical music, my favorite copositores are Camille Saint-Saens, Prokofiev, Dmitri Dmitrievich Shostakovich and some symphonies of which I can not remember the compositor.I like many songs of Guns N 'Roses, some of Megadeth, the fall of troy, etc, etc.
